The entire vocabulary of the House fits into a few symbols, designed by Georges Vuitton in 1896: the interlaced LV initials, the four-petal flower, and the four-pointed star. Since then, Louis Vuitton has continuously extracted them from the canvas to turn them into objects in their own right — buckles, buttons, clasps, and this family of charms that isolates them and gives them volume. It is the logo stripped of all context: no more luggage, no more canvas, just the emblems suspended.
This model plays with three elements and three finishes. A round medallion where the four-pointed star and the four petals are openworked in the gold metal, filled with a warm rose that catches the light. Beside it, a Monogram flower rendered in silver-tone metal, more understated, acts as a balance. And finally, a tassel of fine gold chains, topped with a cap, that hangs lower than the rest and moves with the slightest movement. The screw-type key ring and the lobster clasp, in gold-tone metal, bear the Louis Vuitton signature engraved in relief.
It is a multi-purpose accessory. Clipped to the handle of a bag, it completely changes the mood; slipped onto a belt loop, it is worn like a waist ornament; used alone, it functions as a key holder. At 18.5 cm, it has a real length — it drapes and gets noticed, unlike shorter charms that remain subtle.
